We are thrilled to announce that Green Loop will participate in the COP 16 on Biodiversity in Cali, Colombia, a monumental global event aimed at redefining our relationship with nature and promoting sustainable solutions to the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
On behalf of the alliance between USGBC, GBCI, and CCCS, we have received a warm invitation for Esteban Martínez, our COO, to be a panelist in the session titled «Sustainable Communities in Colombia: Nature and Wellness.» This session will take place on October 26th, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at ECCI University, located in Cali. During this session, Esteban will share Green Loop’s experience in implementing sustainable solutions that promote wellness and biodiversity preservation in Colombian communities.

A Key Event in the Fight for Biodiversity
COP 16 on Biodiversity is the Conference of the Parties, the highest decision-making body of the Convention on Biological Diversity. This event, held every two years, represents a crucial opportunity to establish commitments and frameworks for action aimed at conserving biological diversity, promoting its sustainable use, and ensuring equitable participation in the benefits derived from genetic resources. For the first time, COP 16 will be held in Colombia, from October 21 to November 1, 2024, in the city of Cali—an ideal venue to discuss the future of the planet under the theme «Peace with Nature.»
The focus of this edition will be to transform our relationship with the natural environment and rethink our production and consumption practices. The goal is clear: to foster a vision where life and biodiversity are prioritized and protected on a global scale. Colombia, with its immense natural wealth and experience in resilience, is poised to lead this change.

The Importance of COP 16 for Colombia and the World
The added value of hosting COP 16 in Colombia lies in our vision of «Peace with Nature.» We recognize that the true struggle of the 21st century is for life, and transforming our relationship with nature is key to tackling the biggest challenges of our time. At Green Loop, we are committed to this vision and look forward to sharing our sustainability solutions and experiences with the global community during this crucial event.
Colombia, with its incredible biodiversity and spirit of resilience, is destined to play a central role in creating a fairer and more sustainable future for all. This is not just a summit; it’s a decisive step toward a new paradigm where nature and the well-being of communities go hand in hand.
