At Green Loop, we are excited to share a featured article dedicated to us by the renowned IES platform, highlighting our journey and achievements in sustainable construction and energy efficiency. This recognition not only validates our commitment to sustainability but also emphasizes our collaboration with IES, which has been fundamental to our success.

Exclusive Collaboration with IES
Since 2010, we have worked exclusively with IES for LEED certifications, bioclimatic and passive analysis, ASHRAE 62.1 and 55 compliance, and PRM simulations. This collaboration has enabled us to deliver groundbreaking projects, such as the first net zero-ready building in Colombia and the first Living Building Challenge certified project in the region. Our headquarters achieved LEED Platinum CI certification in 2016, and since then, we have utilized IES modeling software in over 400 projects.
Creating Colombia’s First Universal Energy Code
One of our most significant achievements is the creation of Colombia’s first universal energy code. In 2019, the Colombian Ministry of Housing approached us to develop this new code, comparable to other global standards. We were the only consultants in the country with the necessary expertise in virtual energy modeling to complete the project, using IES software.

The project involved simulating over 1,300 independent energy models to predict optimal thermal comfort, covering various building types in different climates. We worked with Camacol, the Colombian Chamber of Construction, and conducted national workshops to understand typical building layouts. Throughout this ambitious project, we employed seven full-time consultants and used three dedicated servers and 10 computers for energy modeling, operating 24/7.
We are immensely proud of these achievements and grateful for the recognition from IES. This article highlights the importance of our collaboration and continuous innovation in the sustainable construction industry. We invite everyone to read the full article on the IES website and learn more about our projects and contributions to sustainability.
