Greenbuild 2024: An Event That Reaffirms Green Loop’s Commitment to Sustainability Across Latin America

Sustainability is a journey we don’t walk alone. At Green Loop, our mission to create a greener and more equitable future has always been guided by collaboration, innovation, and tangible impacts on our communities. Participating in Greenbuild 2024 was a powerful experience that strengthened this vision, allowing us to connect with colleagues, friends, and industry leaders who, like us, are committed to transforming the built environment.

A Space to Share and Strengthen Connections

Greenbuild 2024 offered us a platform to share our expertise, learn from other leaders, and establish meaningful connections with professionals passionate about sustainable building. Held in the heart of Philadelphia, this event gathered thousands of specialists, from technical experts to activists and industry leaders. It went beyond conferences and became a space for building community, collaborating toward a shared purpose, and exploring the latest advancements shaping the future of sustainability.

Inspiring Figures Who Highlight the Sector’s Importance

During Greenbuild, we had the honor of hearing from and meeting influential figures, including Don Cheadle, a renowned actor, director, and activist. His participation emphasized the broader impact of sustainability, demonstrating how climate change disproportionately affects communities and how everyone, regardless of their background, can create meaningful change. Cheadle’s message was a call to action, reminding us that sustainability is neither a linear nor simple path, but a collective effort that encompasses diverse perspectives.

Recognitions That Affirm Our Work

A standout moment during our participation was receiving recognition for our work on LEED for Cities and Communities projects in collaboration with Constructora Bolívar. Encanto del Valle and Parque Dulce, two developments located in Valle del Cauca, achieved LEED v4.1 Cities and Communities certification—a milestone that places Colombia as a regional leader in sustainable building across Latin America. This recognition fills us with pride, reflecting our ongoing commitment to projects that not only meet international sustainability standards but also create a tangible impact on people’s lives.

Encanto del Valle and Parque Dulce are more than just projects; they represent our vision of sustainable cities, where every element—from urban design to resource management—has been planned to optimize residents’ well-being and environmental harmony. Achieving LEED v4.1 certification acknowledges this effort and reaffirms that sustainability must be at the core of building resilient, equitable, and community-focused developments.

Commitment Beyond Projects: Collaboration as a Catalyst for Change

Green Loop has witnessed and contributed to profound change within the industry, driving strategies that transcend individual projects to influence policies, practices, and sector culture. Throughout Greenbuild 2024, we deepened our connections and exchanged ideas with leading professionals such as Vatsal Bhatt, María Alexandra Cardona, Nicole Isle, Elena Alschuler, Stephanie Greene, Renée Loveland, Sara Neff, Mary Ann Piette, Ruth Thomas, and José Almiñana. These collaborations enrich our work, offering new perspectives and approaches that foster continuous improvement.

LEED for Cities and Communities: Paving the Way to a Sustainable Future

Our efforts on LEED for Cities and Communities certifications reflect Green Loop’s determination to go beyond traditional sustainability standards. We believe in creating cities where urban planning, efficient resource use, social inclusion, and climate resilience converge to enhance quality of life. The certification of Encanto del Valle and Parque Dulce stands as a testament to this vision, illustrating how sustainability can be comprehensively integrated into urban development.

A Special Recognition for Esteban Martínez

This year, Greenbuild also served as a space to highlight the work of our leaders. Esteban Martínez, COO of Green Loop, was recognized for his dedication and leadership in LEED for Cities and Communities projects. His vision and commitment have been pivotal in achieving milestones that position Green Loop at the forefront of sustainability in Latin America. Thanks to his efforts and our team’s collective drive, we continue to prove that sustainable building is not only possible but essential.

Building a Greener Future Together

In every project, initiative, and collaboration, Green Loop reaffirms its commitment to sustainability. Our participation in Greenbuild 2024 was not just an opportunity to showcase achievements but also to learn, be inspired, and continue working toward a better world. We will keep pushing sustainability to new heights, making a difference in our communities and building a future where everyone can thrive.

We are especially thrilled to be sharing this experience with our dedicated professionals, Jalime Eskaff and Juliana Sarmiento. Their passion and expertise embody the spirit of Green Loop and strengthen our collective impact.
