Architecture gains meaning when it connects with place, climate, and the way people inhabit time.

The 23 Living project, developed by Mensula in Medellín, offers a residential experience where architecture, nature, and lifestyle come together as one. Inspired by the geography of the Aburrá Valley, this development of approximately 4,000 m² combines honest materials, simple lines, and spaces designed for a slower, more intentional way of living—whether for short stays or long-term living.

Green Loop supports the project through bioclimatic design and EDGE consulting, guiding it toward efficient performance in energy, water, and materials with the goal of achieving certification. The approach focuses on adapting the design to the local climate, optimizing thermal comfort, and reducing reliance on active systems.

The project integrates strategies such as the use of native vegetation, high-reflectance roofs and surfaces, efficient water systems, ventilation aligned with ASHRAE 62.1, and best construction practices. It also includes consumption metering, infrastructure for sustainable mobility, and a focus on efficient, well-controlled lighting. In terms of performance, the project targets savings of approximately 27.47% in energy, 28.98% in water, and 34.52% in materials, aligning with EDGE standards and local regulations. It also incorporates more than 500 m² of accessible green areas, strengthening the connection between the built environment and nature.

23 Living is more than a place to stay—it’s a concept where sustainability, design, and experience come together to shape a new way of living in the city.
